The days of absolutely pillaging Wyandotte County residents to make up for deference given to incoming big businesses are over. Big businesses are great for job creation; expanding our economic resources is fantastic! However, expecting the residents to take the brunt of the financial burden is unacceptable. Daran's primary focus is people, not politics.
There are wasteful expenditures that are not necessary during the covid clean up (e.g., walking paths in the park and rehabbing a bridge are not as essential as lowering property taxes). Big businesses, currently in our city and county, were given so many incentives to come here that they are depleting our resources, not helping us.
Small businesses with owners living and working in Wyandotte should be given incentives for building and rebuilding.
Urban reconstruction projects are vital to our core strength as a city.
We need streets that are driveable - can I get an amen?
Residents and our values have been marginalized for too long. It stops now. It's time to give the county back to the people.
